… and Responsibilities.
Why do we care?
Caring is at the very Heart of our existence. Who we are today and who we become tomorrow is up to us. Knowing how to take responsibility for who we are in every moment is shaped by how vulnerable we can let ourselves be. Self-discovery is to open our Heart and our Mind to the space in-between and to accept what is, as our great opportunity to bring the highest quality of care to our entire life.
Changing how we want others to care is a solo journey in taking full responsibility for how willing we are to grow and express the love and beauty that lives inside of us. Trying to make anyone see us and hear us can be exhausting. Carving out our own path with our own footprint is hard work, and if it is done without short cuts we know we can look back without regret. Instead it will be a well worn path that has inspired others to see potential unfold just as we saw it.
The more clearly we see our Self, without heavy emotions blocking our view, the higher the quality of our doing. As Rumi says, ‘Let the beauty of what you love be what you do’.
What is the quality of our doing?
Caring is not passive. It is the action of putting into practice how we feel about our relationship to life. And how we perceive how life treats - cares for - us.
We live in a world where there is an attention deficit to our doing, which has now become viewed as a disorder. It is caused from a scrambling of the brains thought activity, moving fast and always trying to keep up with what we have to do.
With so much attention to our very busy mind, we can easily lose focus on feeling connected to how we care. That is, hearing the truth of the quality of our actions. By giving attention to the feelings of others, human and non-human, we can find a new and often unexpected response to those feelings. And in return, we can offer our care, our support and our love with the full attention of our Heart, our Spirit and all the wisdom that it brings.
