The feeling exercise
Learning how to reconnect with your feelings calls for your good Self to pay full attention to your emotions.
And to do this, it is important to feel every single feeling just the way it is - including all the distorted beliefs and fears they hold. You want to feel it all to free it all. And create space to understand the wisdom and knowledge behind the feeling. (this is why I talk so much about space 😊)
Be sure to remember - overwhelming, uncomfortable and prickly feelings are not real, but to understand them it is important to be fully present to them.
It will feel very hard to begin with. And physically painful, but you are here, now, freeing your Mind.
Suppressed and repressed feelings hold beliefs that it is dangerous and scary to feel and express your feelings.
Your beliefs have told you it is dangerous and scary to feel and use the power behind these feelings to make choices you didn’t believe you could make. It is here you learn to move from the most difficult feeling of hopelessness to empowerment, through reclaiming the energy power behind the feeling.
Use the feeling exercise as often as as freely as you can for all your feelings. For example, when you feel resentment from feeling judged, or sad from remembering how you felt misunderstood and perhaps mistreated.
Close your eyes. Feel your body and all its vibrating energy. Feel how this energy is moving and the intensity of this moving energy.
Feel the feeling just as it is, free of any thoughts you have about it. Breathe as you let your Self feel the energy and the power in the feeling with your full awareness.
Feel love for the feeling just the way it is. Feel love for the power in the feeling.
Feel love for your Self feeling the feeling and the feeling the power in the feeling.
Be patient, keep breathing with you full awareness as you allow your Self to feel the feeling, its vibration, its intensity and the energy power it has created.
Feel this intensity of energy as power - your own power.
As you learn to just be with the feelings, the intensity of the feeling reduces. By not judging or labelling the feeling you have been able to release it and its sticky, irritable and grating discomfort.
By feeling - giving love - to the feeling, you have been able to turn the energy power into a new feeling of empowerment. And choice.
The more you practice feeling love for your feelings in all their distortions, the more quickly you learn to develop a loving and trusting relationship with your Self. And trust in others.
Over time you will be able to feel your feelings fully, and freely, without any fear.
You are learning to not only open your Hear and Mind, but you are learning to enjoy the constant and free flowing movement of love all the time.
